Excavation
Excavation might consist of the intensive investigation of a small area or the examination of several hectares of landscape. Usually, in a commercial context, it is the final stage of programme of archaeological work that first started with a desk-top assessment, followed by an interim field evaluation. Dyfed Archaeological Trust’s team of professional archaeologists has considerable and diverse excavation experience, including a variety of large-scale and small-scale projects, and our staff are particularly familiar with working in rural, urban and intertidal environments. Dyfed Archaeological Trust also has an excellent track record of producing punctual and thorough reports, on time and within budget, working with and for a variety of different clients. We are able to assist you from the earliest planning stages of your project, and are dedicated to the smooth running of each individual venture from start to finish, including post-excavation analysis and the publication of results in regional and national journals. All the Trust staff are CSCS registered to work on construction sites, and are fully trained in understanding health and safety issues. Dyfed Archaeological Trust is committed to working with you to achieve your goals. From small-scale trial-trenching through to major research excavations and training digs, we offer a complete service from start to finish.
