Potential for Survival of Deposits Containing Archaeological and Environmental
Information
These maps are based on the amalgamation and analysis of several datasets
compiled and collated by Birmingham. Each defined area has been assigned a value based on
the potential for surviving deposits, with a range from one to six. One indicating that
there is only low potential for surviving deposits and six that there is very high potential
for survival. As with the maps of the character areas, the boundary between survival areas
should be regarding as a broad zone of change, some of which might be refined in the future.
