The project aims to investigate the medieval and post-medieval road network and related sites. The initial phase of the project undertaken in 2014-15 consisted of a desk-based project to identify turnpike roads from easily accessible documentary sources and where possible to identify pre-turnpike roads across south-west Wales. Subsequent studies include more detailed documentary investigation and fieldwork on a county by county basis.
