At Dyfed Archaeological Trust (DAT) we work with many organisations, communities and individuals to encourage everyone to learn about and enjoy the heritage and archaeology of their local area and beyond. We work with other organisations, communities and individuals in various ways, and we are always keen to explore new opportunities for working together.
Contact DAT for help and advice with your research, community project or educational resource, we are always happy to help where we can and if we have the resources available.
Most often, contact is through projects and initiatives we have created and are running ourselves. These include working with local schools to deliver material supporting the National Curriculum, providing opportunities for involvement in excavation and survey, and delivering talks and seminars.
The Trust has opportunities to participate on fieldwork and office-based archaeology projects. Our projects are open to all. Have you always wanted to have a go at archaeology but were not sure how to get involved? Or do you want to acquire more skills and experience? You can volunteer with us whatever your ability or experience.

Volunteering and Work Experience
You can volunteer to help us with our work in the office at Llandeilo and we provide opportunities to gain work experience. There are some activities which can be undertaken at home if you are unable to travel.
These are arranged well in advance to allow us to organise a programme to suit us and you!
Excavation and Field Survey
The chance to join in with and archaeological excavation or field survey is a hugely popular activity.
