THE LEGACY OF THE CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS
The legacy of the Conscientious Objectors' project was a partnership project led by Dyfed Archaeological Trust including Wales for Peace and Brecon Beacons National Park with funding from the Brecon Beacons Trust and Cadw. Working around the Llyn y Fan Fach on the Western edge of the Brecon Beacons the project sought to explore the history of the construction of the water main and dam by conscientious objectors during the First World War. It has involved local people and school children in discovering archaeology and understanding the significance of the site.
